BROWN STONE FRONT CAKE 
1 c. sugar
1 1/4 c. flour
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt
2 eggs
1 c. thick sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift dry ingredients together. Beat eggs until light; add sour cream, add dry ingredients gradually. Add vanilla. Bake in moderate oven 375 degrees until toothpick comes out clean. Use cornstarch filling between layers and frost.

CORNSTARCH FILLING:

1 c. sweet milk
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook ingredients over medium heat until thickened, let cool and spread between layers. Frost cake with chocolate icing or 7 minute frosting.
