MEXICAN WEDDING CAKE CONFECTIONS 
1 c. butter
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
Chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter, add sugar gradually. Blend in salt, vanilla, flour. Mixture is stiff. Shape rounded teaspoons into balls, place shaped dough in small paper candy liners. Place liners on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Cool. Frost with Browned Butter Frosting (see below). Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Makes approximately 5 1/2 dozen.

BROWNED BUTTER FROSTING:

2 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 tbsp. hot water
Cream

Brown butter in saucepan. Remove from heat. Stir in sugar and water. Add enough cream to make frosting of spreading consistency.
