GOONEY-BIRD PIE
1/4 c. butter, melted
1/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. milk, scalded and cooled to lukewarm
2 pkgs. dry yeast
1/2 c. lukewarm water
2 eggs
6 1/2 to 7 c. flour
2 c. brown sugar
2 c. pecans, coarsely chopped
1/2 c. butter

Combine melted butter, sugar, salt and eggs. Thoroughly mix and slowly add milk.

Dissolve yeast in water and stir into milk mixture, slowly add flour to make a soft dough. Set in a warm place and let stand for 30 minutes.

Grease 2 pizza pans. Knead dough and divide in 2 equal pieces. Roll out and stretch to fit pizza pans. Melt 1/2 cup butter and put half on each of the pizzas.

Sprinkle 1 cup butter in each and smooth so all of the dough is covered.

Sprinkle 1 cup chopped pecans on each. Bake at 400 degrees F. for 20 to 30 minutes or until golden browned.

This recipe was one I dreamed one night. I was feeding it to "Gooney Birds".
