CASSEROLE WITH CORNBREAD TOPPING | |
1 1/2 lb. ground beef 1/2 c. chopped bell pepper 1/4 c. chopped onions 2 tbsp. chili powder 1 (15 oz.) can pinto beans, undrained 1 1/2 c. shredded sharp cheese 1 sm. pkg. cornbread mix 1/2 tsp. salt 2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce Brown ground beef; drain off greased. Add pepper, onions, and salt. Cook until onions are tender. Add chili powder and tomato sauce. Pour mixture into greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Pour beans over meat mixture. Spread cheese over beans. Set aside. Mix cornbread mix according to package directions and pour over top. Bake at 400 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until brown. |
