OLD FASHIONED FUDGE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. whipping cream
1/2 c. light syrup
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts

Combine sugar, cream, syrup, and cocoa in large saucepan. Cook over low heat until drop in cold water forms medium ball, usually 1 hour. Remove from heat; add vanilla. Beat by hand until thick. Add nuts; spread in buttered platter.

For anyone who is making fudge for the first time, use this recipe. Fudge isn't fudge if it has mashmellows or cheese--yech. Become an expert with this recipe and you will be a hit. Important: don't rush it or it will sugar (crystalize) Keep it bubbling--use a candy thermometer to soft ball stage.
