WHITE BREAD - MILK
1 tbsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
3 tbsp. butter
2 c. boiling water
1 egg
1 c. powdered milk
1 env. yeast
About 6 c. flour

Combine in bowl salt, sugar, butter and boiling water. When tepid add 1 egg beaten, powdered milk and yeast. Mix well.

Add flour until it can be handled - when it draws away from the sides of bowl. Dump out on floured board. Knead until elastic and smooth. Put back in bowl; cover. Let rise until double.

Form 2 - 9x5 loaves or 3 medium loaves. When well rounded, bake at 350 degrees. Remove from pans. Cool on rack, covered with towel.
