MRS. F.'S CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
2 c. butter (or butter flavored Crisco) soften at room temperature)
2 c. granulated sugar
2 c. brown sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
4 c. flour
5 c. oatmeal
1 tsp. salt (optional)
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
24 oz. real chocolate semi-sweet morsels
8 oz. milk chocolate (Hershey bar or equivalent)
2 c. chopped walnuts or other variety

Cream together the butter, sugar and brown sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla. Take oatmeal 1 cup at a time and place it to a blender or food processor for just a few seconds, do not reduce it to a powder, just bread down the flakes until they are half their normal size.

In a separate bowl mix all the dry ingredients (flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder and baking soda.) Add the blended dry ingredients, one cup at a time to the butter mixture and mix thoroughly until the mixture forms a "dough". Add the chocolate morsels and grate in the milk chocolate bar of chop in a food processor, and chopped nuts. Mix well.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place golf-ball size cookies on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for approximately 6 minutes. Makes about 8 dozen cookies.
