BUTTERSCOTCH ICE BOX COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. shortening
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
3 eggs, well beaten
1 c. chopped nuts
5 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening with sugars. Add eggs slowly, mixing thoroughly. Stir in nuts and vanilla. Add dry ingredients sifted together. Shape into rolls about 2 1/2 to 3 inches in diameter. Chill well. Slice and bake at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes.
