1 1/2 cup flour
1 cup sugar
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
6 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 cup cold water
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine all dry ingredients in 9 inch square pan, mixing well. Make 3 wells in dry ingredients. In first well put vegetable oil, in second well put vinegar, in third well put vanilla. Pour water over all. Mix thoroughly with fork.

Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes. Ice if desired or sprinkle with confection sugar.
