HUNGARIAN RUM CAKE 
CAKE:

2 1/2 c. flour
1/4 lb. butter
6 tbsp. lard (or Crisco)
2 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

FILLING:

1 1/2 c. ground walnuts
3/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. rum
Strawberry jam to cover, reserved

Mix all of the ingredients together on a board or in a bowl. Form a ball. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Roll into 1 sheet about 9"x13". Pat into place in baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until done.

FILLING: While dough is baking, mix all ingredients together. While cake is still warm, cut cake in two. Spread 1 side with nut mixture and the other side with jam. Put layers together and cut immediately.
