1/2 c. butter
1 1/4 c. sugar, granulated
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. baking cocoa
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 1/2 c. sweetened applesauce
3/4-1 c. each candied mixed fruit, cut up dates, raisins & walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease round tube cake pan or 2 loaf pans. Blend together butter, sugar and eggs. Add flour, baking soda, cocoa, spices and applesauce. Fold in fruit, dates, raisins and nuts.

Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour, using cake tester. Frost with confectioners' and milk glaze. Decorate with red and green candied fruit.
