HAM AND CHEESE STRATA 
18 slices day old bread
12 slices cooked ham
12 slices cheese of choice
8 eggs
4 c. milk
Salt and pepper to taste

Trim crusts. Make 6 double decker sandwiches, each with 2 slices of ham and 2 slices of cheese layered between 3 slices of bread. Cut each sandwich into 4 squares.

Arrange closely in greased 9 x 13 dish. Beat eggs, add milk, salt and pepper. Pour over sandwiches. Use spatula to press sandwiches several times to help sauce penetrate all 3 layers. Cover. Refrigerate overnight. Bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes until puffy and beginning to brown.
