MOTHERS SUGAR COOKIES 
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 c. white sugar
1/4 tsp. almond flavor
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour, sifted
1/4 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt

Using mixer, cream butter; add sugar, almond and vanilla flavoring. Add dry ingredients. Roll dough into three refrigerator rolls. Chill to smooth rolls nice on outside. Slice 1/8 inch thick after chilling several hours. Bake at 350 degrees until done. They brown easily. While cookies are still warm, dip in sugar on back sides. Store in closed containers.
