1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
2 heaping tbsp. honey
1 1/2 c. applesauce
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. mace
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. raisins
1 pkg. fruit cake mix
1 tsp. baking soda, sifted with flour

Cream shortening and sugar, add slightly beaten egg. Add applesauce, spices, flour and soda. Lastly add floured nuts and fruits. Bake in loaf pan about 1 hour at 350 degrees.
