1 c. milk
1/3 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook milk and flour until thick. Cool. Cream butter with vanilla and sugar. Mix in milk. Beat until the consistency of whipped cream. Spread on cooled cake.
