BEET PICKLES 
4 c. vinegar
2 c. water
4 c. sugar
4 sticks cinnamon
12 whole cloves, tied in bag
2 tsp. pickle spice, tied in bag (optional)
Cooked beets

Boil the vinegar, water, sugar, cinnamon, cloves and spices together. Pour over hot beets. This is enough syrup for about 5 quarts.
