1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch or flour
2 c. water
1/4 c. butter
2 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar and starch and water, bring to a boil for 1 minute. Keep stirring, reduce heat. Mix butter and vanilla. This will thicken some.
