PAN BROWNED HASH (HAM) 
1 tbsp. shortening
1 sm. onion, chopped
2 tbsp. chopped green pepper
1/2 c. grated carrot
2 c. each diced cooked potatoes and ham
1/2 tsp. each salt and pepper
1/2 c. milk

Melt shortening in heavy skillet; saute' onions, green pepper, carrots over medium heat for 10 minutes, stir in potatoes; mix until flecked brown. Add other ingredients. Cook over low heat without stirring for 15 minutes. Serve warm.
