HOT MILK SPONGE CAKE 
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. milk
1 1/2 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt

Put milk and butter on to heat. Beat eggs, add sugar to eggs and beat. Add sifted dry ingredients. Add vanilla. Then add hot, scalded milk, and stir very well. Bake in 8-inch cake pan at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

FROSTING:

Melt 1/4 cup butter, add 2/3 cup brown sugar, and 1 1/2 cups coconut. Spread on cake and place in broiler to brown.
