BOSTON FUDGE CAKE 
2 c. sifted flour
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. buttermilk
3 lg. eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. soft shortening
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 sq. unsweetened chocolate

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt chocolate squares. Grease well and dust with flour 2 round 9-inch pans. Sift dry ingredients into bowl. Add sugar and shortening. Pour in buttermilk and vanilla. Beat for 2 minutes at medium speed on electric mixer.

Scrape sides and bottom of bowl constantly to assure good mixing. Add eggs and chocolate. Beat another 2 minutes.

Pour into prepared pans. Bake on middle shelf of oven for 30 minutes or until pick inserted in middle of cake comes out clean. Cool. When cool, frost.
