2 c. flour
4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. salt
1 c. boiling water
20 drops food coloring
2 tbsp. oil

Mix together flour, cream of tartar and salt. Add boiling water to food coloring and oil, then add hot water mixture to dry ingredients. Cook over low heat until a ball forms. Remove from heat. Take dough from saucepan and knead for a few minutes. Playdough will keep indefinitely if kept in a tightly closed plastic bag or plastic container.
