1 c. milk
1/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. shortening
1 tsp. salt
1 c. warm water
1 pkg. yeast
About 6 c. flour
1 egg

Scald milk with sugar, shortening and salt. Soften yeast in 1 cup warm water. When cool enough mix the two. Add beaten egg. Add about half flour and mix well with beater. Add rest of flour and knead until light and smooth. Let rise until double in bulk. Shape into various shapes as you wish. Let rise again. Bake for 15 minutes in a 375 degree oven.
