SHERRIED SWEET POTATOES 
3 lbs. sweet potatoes
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. sherry
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Cream, if needed

Cook quartered potatoes until tender. Cool slightly. Peel and mash. Beat 1/4 cup of the butter, the sherry, the nutmeg and 1/2 teaspoon o the cinnamon into the potatoes. If mixture is dry, add casserole. Dot with remaining butter and cinnamon. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes. A wonderful alternative to candied sweet potatoes. Serves 6.
