3/4 c. flour
1 1/4 c. meal
4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
1/4 c. chopped onion
2 tbsp. oil
1 c. milk
1 sm. can cream style corn (opt.)

Mix all ingredients. Let stand about 5 minutes before cooking. Drop by teaspoonful into hot oil. (If the corn is added, reduce milk by 1/2 cup.) Cook until golden brown.
