HOT DISH ORIENTAL 
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 c. chopped onion
1 c. chopped celery
2 tbsp. shortening

Cook until vegetables are done and then drain.

1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/3 c. soy sauce
2/3 c. uncooked rice
1 c. water chestnuts
1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms, stems and juice

Drain liquid from chestnuts, mushrooms and add water to make 2 cups. Heat liquid and other ingredients to meat. Bake in 2 quart casserole for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
