CHRISTMAS PUMPKIN FRUITCAKE 
2 c. all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
3/4 c. butter, softened
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 c. mashed canned pumpkin
3/4 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1/2 c. chopped dates
1/2 c. raisins
10 glazed cherries

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, and pumpkin pie spice. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add pumpkin; mix well. Add sifted ingredients alternately with milk, blending after each addition. Fold in pecans, dates, raisins, and cherries. Spoon batter into a greased and floured 9 inch tube pan. Bake 1 hour or until cake test for doneness. Let cool in pan 30 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely on wire rack.
