DATE NUT FINGERS 
3 egg whites
1/4 tsp. salt
1 3/4 c. powdered sugar
1 tbsp. flour
2 c. broken pecans
1 c. chopped dates
1 tsp. vanilla

Add salt to egg whites. Beat to stiff foam. Sift sugar with flour. Add to egg whites one tablespoon at a time. Continue beating until very stiff. Fold in nuts, dates, and vanilla. Drop by teaspoon onto cookie sheet covered with plain (brown bag) paper. Shape into finger shapes. Bake in slow oven 300 degrees for 30 minutes. IMPORTANT: add sugar and flour slowly.
