APRICOT BREAD 
1/2 c. dried apricots (soaked 1/2 hour in cold water)
1 lg. orange, juice & rind
Boiling water
1/2 c. raisins
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. melted butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg, well beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. bread flour
1/2 c. nuts

Squeeze orange juice into cup and fill with boiling water. Put apricots, orange rind and raisins through chopper. Add cup of mixed orange juice and water. Stir in soda, sugar, melted butter and vanilla. Add well beaten egg and remaining dry ingredients sifted together. Add nuts. Bake in greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pan in moderate oven for 50 minutes.
