CHOCOLATE CAKE | |
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter 4 (1 oz.) sq. bitter chocolate 2 eggs 2 c. buttermilk 2 tsp. vanilla extract 2 1/2 c. sifted self-rising flour 1 tsp. baking soda 2 c. sugar Preheat oven 350 degrees. Grease, lightly dust with flour (2) 8 inch square cake pans. Melt butter and chocolate together over low heat; cool. Beat eggs until frothy. Add buttermilk and vanilla. Sift together flour, soda and sugar. Blend into buttermilk mixture, then stir in melted butter and chocolate. Pour batter into pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Frost with favorite dark chocolate frosting. |
