ON HAND BISCUIT MIX 
8 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. baking powder
8 tsp. sugar, optional

Cut in 1 cup shortening with pastry blender to very fine consistency. Store in your cupboard or in the refrigerator. It stays fresh for months.

When ready to mix, use 1 cup mix to 1/3 cup milk. You can roll them out or they make excellent drop biscuits.

To roll, turn mix onto floured board. Knead gently for a few seconds, then roll to approximately 1/2 inch thick. Use a glass to cut them to the shape you wish. Place on greased pan and bake at 425 degrees until browned.
