DAFFODIL CAKE 
YELLOW LAYER:

6 egg yolks
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. water

Beat for 15 or 20 minutes.

WHITE LAYER:

6 egg whites, beaten stiff
1/2 c. sugar (folded lightly in to egg whites)
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 c. flour

When the white layer is ready, complete the yellow layer by stirring into it 1/2 cup flour, sifted 3 times with 1 teaspoon baking powder. Pour white layer in first.
