3/4 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
3 beaten egg yolks
2 1/4 c. CAKE flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. orange juice
3/4 c. COLD water
1 tbsp. grated orange juice
3 stiff beaten egg whites

Thoroughly cream shortening and sugar. Add egg yolks and beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with water, orange juice and peel. Fold in egg whites (beaten stiffly, not dry). Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes in two 9-inch pans or 13 x 9 x 2 pan.
