SWEET AND SOUR POT ROAST 
4 lbs. beef for pot roast
2 tbsp. butter
1 med. onion, sliced
Salt and pepper
1 1/2 c. vinegar
1 c. cold water
1 c. brown sugar
Dash allspice
Flour

Brown meat slowly in butter. Add onion, cook 5 minutes. Salt and pepper. Add vinegar, water, sugar and allspice. Cover and cook slowly for 4 hours. Remove meat, thicken juice with flour for gravy.
