SWEET-SOUR MEATBALLS 
Basic Meatballs (below)
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 (13 1/4 oz.) can pineapple tidbits or chunks
1/3 c. vinegar
1 tbsp. soy sauce
1 sm. green pepper, cut into 1/2 inch pieces

Prepare and microwave Basic Meatballs. Mix brown sugar and cornstarch in 2-quart casserole. Stir in pineapple (with syrup), vinegar and soy sauce. Microwave uncovered on high (100%) 2 minutes; stir. Microwave until mixture thickens and boils, 3 to 4 minutes longer.

Add cooked meatballs and green pepper. Cover tightly and microwave on high (100%) until pepper is crisp-tender, 3 to 4 minutes. Yield: 4 servings.

BASIC MEATBALLS:

1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. dry bread crumbs
1/4 c. milk
1/4 finely chopped onion (about 1 sm.)
1 egg
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
3/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Mix all ingredients; shape by tablespoonfuls into 1 1/2 inch balls. (For ease in shaping meatballs, occasionally wet hands with cold water.) Arrange meatballs in baking dish, 12 x 7 1/2 x 2 inches. Cover loosely and microwave on high (100%) 3 minutes; rearrange meatballs. Cover and microwave until no longer pink inside, 5-7 minutes longer. Let stand 3 minutes; drain. Yield: About 2 dozen meatballs.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
