1/2 c. white or brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
2 1/2 to 2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. double acting baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugar and butter. Blend in rest of ingredients. Chill the dough 3-4 hours before rolling. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake 7-12 minutes. Very simple and tasty; cookies are great frosted or simply by themselves or sprinkled with sugar before baking.
