GINGER CRISP COOKIES 
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
1 egg
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1/4 c. molasses

Cream sugar and shortening. Add egg and molasses. Add flour, sifted with spices. Make into balls the size of a small walnut. Roll in sugar. Press down with bottom of a glass. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
