SWISS STEAK 
1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
Generous dash pepper
1 1/2 lbs. round steak (about 3/4 inch thick)
2 tbsp. shortening
1 (10 3/4 oz.) can Campbell's vegetable soup
1/2 soup can of water
1 c. sliced onions

Mix flour, seasoning, pound into steak with meat hammer or edge of heavy saucer. In large skillet, brown steak in shortening, pour off fat. Add rest of ingredients, cover and simmer 1 hour and 15 minutes or until tender, stirring now and then. 4 servings.
