COFFEE CAKE OR CHEORER BREAD | |
1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. Crisco 2/3 c. sugar Dash of salt 4 eggs 1/2 c. water 1/2 c. scalded milk 1 tbsp. caraway seeds 1 yeast 1 tbsp. black caraway seeds Pinch of mahleb powder Scald milk; let cool just a little. Melt butter and Crisco; mix together. Put yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. Mix eggs and sugar and all other ingredients together. Mix all liquids and beat until all sugar is mixed good, then add flour just like yeast bread. Let stand in warm place until it rises double its size. Sprinkle sesame seeds on cutting board. Put dough in whatever size you want and sesame seeds will be on top of bread. You can cut small pieces and roll to long then go round and round in a circle. Whichever you want. Put on cookie sheet. Let rise again. Beat egg real good and brush on top of bread and bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes or until light brown. |
