AUNT HILDA'S CREAM CHEESE POUND
CAKE
 
3 sticks soft butter
8 oz. softened cream cheese
3 c. sugar
6 eggs
3 c. sifted cake flour
Dash salt
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

Combine butter, cream cheese and sugar in large mixing bowl, beat until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beat until smooth. Slowly add flour (with salt); add vanilla and beat until batter mixture is light and fluffy. (This works best if you have a standing mixer and can let it run slowly and constantly while you add ingredients.)

Pour into greased tube pan. Bake for 1 to 1 1/2 hours (check after an hour; done when toothpick comes out clean).

ICING:

1/2 stick softened butter
8 oz. soft cream cheese
1/2 box powdered sugar

Whip all ingredients until smooth and fluffy (couple minutes). Spread on cooled cake and ENJOY!
