RECIPE FOR FRIED CHICKEN 
Salt and pepper chicken to taste, coat good in self-rising flour

Heat pan on medium. Add 3/4 cup Crisco (not oil) and 1 stick butter.

Put chicken with the skin side down. Cover with lid. Cook slow for about 20 minutes until golden brown. Turn and cook on other side until brown. Keep lid on while cooking, drain on paper towel.
