HARD CANDY | |
3 3/4 c. sugar 1 1/2 c. light corn syrup 1 c. water 1 (1 oz.) bottle Lorann flavoring Powdered sugar (opt.) Mix sugar, corn syrup and water in a large saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Boil, without stirring until temperature reaches 310 degrees F. or until drops of syrup form hard, brittle threads in cold water. Remove from heat. After boiling has ceased, stir in flavoring and coloring. Pour onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Cool; break into pieces. If using powdered sugar, drop pieces into large plastic bag along with powdered sugar making sure all pieces are coated. Remove pieces from bag and store in air tight container. Makes in excess of 2 pounds. NOTE: Candy molds can also be used in place of a cookie sheet. I spray my molds with Pam. |
