IRISH STEW | |
1 1/2 lbs. beef chuck, cubed Flour 1 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 1/8 tsp. paprika 3 tbsp. shortening 1 onion, sliced 4 c. water 3 to 4 med. potatoes, diced 4 carrots, sliced Dredge meat in flour seasoned with spices. Melt shortening and brown meat well. Add onions and saute lightly. Reduce heat and add water. Cover and cook 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender, adding more water if necessary. Add potatoes and carrots. Cover and cook until all vegetables are tender. |
