2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix, by hand, all ingredients and form a roll 2 inches thick. Slice crossways very thin with a knife. Place on ungreased pan. Bake 325 degrees 12 minutes (or until brown).
