KENTUCKY COLESLAW 
6 c. finely shredded cabbage
1/4 c. sugar
1 c. finely shredded carrot
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. milk
1 c. mayonnaise
1/2 c. dairy buttermilk
1/2 tsp. celery seed
2 drops Tabasco sauce
3 tbsp. dried minced onions

Toss cabbage with sugar and carrots. Sprinkle on salt and pepper. Drench all with milk. Let stand 10 minutes covered in the refrigerator. Combine mayonnaise, buttermilk and celery seed.

Add Tabasco and minced onions and mix well with cabbage mixture. Cover again and refrigerate 1 hour before serving. Drain off excess dressing if you wish. This will not keep more than 24 hours.
