DOUBLE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter, room temperature
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
2 lg. eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. hot water
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly grease 2 cookie sheets. Mix flour, cocoa and salt. In a large bowl beat butter with electric mixer until smooth. Add sugars; beat until blended. Add eggs and vanilla; beat until pale and fluffy.

In a bowl mix baking soda and water. Stir half the flour mixture into sugar mixture; beat in dissolved baking soda, then stir in remaining flour mixture until well blended. Stir in walnuts and chocolate chips.

Drop heaping teaspoonfuls dough 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets. Bake 1 sheet at a time 10-12 minutes until cookies look firm. Cool on sheet 1 minute before removing to racks to cool completely. Makes 80.
