VENISON CASSEROLE 
1-3 lbs. sliced Steak or tenderloin
5 lg. Potatoes peeled and sliced
1 lg. Onion peeled and sliced
Flour
Shortening
Water
Salt and Pepper

Dredge the steak in flour. Using the shortening in a hot skillet brown the meat. Salt and pepper to taste. It is not necessary to fully cook the meat at this point, just brown the coating. In a large casserole dish, layer the meat and potatoes and onions. Finish with meat on top Cover with water.

Bake at 350°F for 2-3 hrs. The meat will be very tender.
