REFRIGERATOR ROLLS 
1 cake yeast
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. mashed potatoes
6 c. flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. sugar
2 c. milk scalded & cooled to lukewarm
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. baking powder

Preheat oven 450°F.

Place yeast in bowl, add sugar, salt, milk, and add mashed potatoes and half of the flour. Beat well. Add softened shortening. Reserve 1 c. flour for kneading dough. Turn out on board and knead until smooth. Put in greased bowl, cover and place in refrigerator. Take out as much as need. Shape in rolls. Let rise in warm place until doubled.

Bake 15 - 20 minutes.
