RICH CHOCOLATE CAKE | |
1 c. cocoa 2 c. boiling water 1 c. butter, softened 2 1/2 c. sugar 4 eggs 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour 2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt Combine cocoa and boiling water. Stir until smooth. Set aside to cool. Cream butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy. Combine flour, soda, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with cocoa mixture beginning and ending with flour mixture. This will make three (9 inch) layers; 4 (8 inch) layers or 1 (13 x 9 inch) layer. Frost with your favorite butter cream frosting. |
