1 (14 oz.) pkg. light caramels 2/3 c. evaporated milk 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix 3/4 c. melted butter 1 c. chopped nuts 1 c. chocolate chips Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, combine cake mix, butter, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and nuts. By hand, stir until mixed well. Press 1/2 of the dough into greased and floured 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake 6 minutes. Combine caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk; melt in microwave. Stir so it is completely melted. Sprinkle chocolate chips over baked dough and pour caramel mixture over all. Crumble reserved dough over top and bake 15-18 minutes until done. |
