PRUNE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. salad oil
1/2 c. Crisco or butter
2 c. plain or cake flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 c. cooked prunes, chopped
1 c. nuts, if desired

Mix all together and bake in loaf pan about 275 degrees or check as you might think. Ice cake with Buttermilk Topping.

BUTTERMILK TOPPING:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. corn syrup
1/4 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Simmer about 30 minutes. Punch holes in the cake with an ice pick before pouring on the topping.
